Privacy policy
Hair Fairy is run by To be configured before public beta, To be configured before public beta. We decide how your personal information is used in the Hair Fairy app and on our website. You can contact us at support@sasogeek.com.
What we collect
- Your account: your email address and your name. If you sign up with email and password, we store your password only as a secure hash. Your email and name are encrypted.
- Your pose photos: the three photos you take when setting up the Studio. They are saved on your iPhone and are sent to OpenAI only when you request AI processing with consent.
- Looks you generate: when you allow it, your saved pose photos, hairstyle request, and any inspiration photo or previous preview needed for a follow-up are sent to our AI service to create previews of a hairstyle.
- Quote requests: the views of a look you ask stylists to price, matching photos of your current hair, the name of the look, and the area you choose on the map. We round that area to about a kilometre, so it can't pinpoint where you are.
- Posts, likes, saves and favourites you make in the feed.
- Messages you exchange with stylists about a request or send to our support team.
- Appointments and payments: the time, price and status of an appointment. Card details go straight to our payment processor; we never see or store them.
- Reviews you leave, and any photos or videos you add to them.
- Stylists: your public profile name, work address, town, bio and payout details. Your full work address is encrypted.
- Your device: a notification token if you turn notifications on, stored encrypted.
- The waitlist: if you join our private beta waitlist on the website, your email address and whether you are a client or a stylist. Your email is encrypted.
Who sees what
- Stylists see a quote request's photos, look name and area only while it is open and only if it was sent to them. They see your first name. A request goes to stylists who work in the area you choose, and also to your favourite stylists, Hair Fairy's priority stylists, and the stylist whose post you asked from, wherever they work.
- In chats, the other person can see when you are online and when you have read their messages, unless you turn these off in Account.
- Your posts and your first name on them are visible to anyone signed in to Hair Fairy.
- Reviews show your first name to people signed in to Hair Fairy. Photos or videos from a review appear in a stylist's portfolio only if you choose to share them there.
- A stylist's full work address is shared only with a client who has paid for an appointment with them, until that appointment is cancelled.
Services we use
- Stripe takes card payments, handles refunds and pays stylists.
- OpenAI creates hairstyle previews and understands typed and spoken requests, and screens pictures posted to the feed. It receives the photos and text needed for the operation. AI previews require your permission; content you choose to publish is screened for safety. Provider retention and international transfers are subject to our processor agreements, which must be confirmed before public beta.
- Apple delivers notifications if you turn them on. If you choose Sign in with Apple, we verify your Apple sign-in and store an account identifier and the email address Apple shares, which may be a private relay address. You confirm your name and account type when creating an account.
- Hostinger International Limited in the United Kingdom stores our data.
- Finding your face and hair while you take guided photos happens on your iPhone; those camera frames are not sent to us.
- Our website uses no advertising or analytics cookies. The only cookie is the sign-in cookie for Hair Fairy staff.
How long we keep it
- Successful generated previews have an encrypted retry copy on our server for up to 24 hours. Incoming generation photos are processed for the request and are not saved by Hair Fairy as pose records on the server. Saved looks stay on your iPhone until you remove them.
- Photos attached to a quote request are deleted when you cancel or delete the request.
- We keep your waitlist entry until the beta is open to you, or until you ask us to remove it.
- When you delete your account, we revoke your sessions immediately and queue erasure of photos, videos, posts, messages, support conversations, favourites and profile content. The app removes that account’s saved poses and looks from this device. Erasure may take time during an outage; failures are retried and monitored. Restricted payment and appointment records are retained for 6 years to handle financial obligations and disputes. Backup copies expire under the operator’s backup schedule; restored backups must have account erasures reapplied before service resumes.
Your rights
You can see and correct your name in the app, and delete your account from Account at any time. Under UK data protection law you can also ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Contact us at support@sasogeek.com. If you're unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Our legal basis
We process account, request and appointment information to provide the service you request, and your waitlist email to tell you about the beta you asked to join. We ask for your consent before external AI processing and device notifications. We use limited security and moderation information to protect the service and its users, and retain financial records where necessary for our legal obligations. Contact us to withdraw consent or discuss these uses.
